It was a good day. The week gas blown by from a mix of business hustle and writing the show. I love New York when the people are out and it comes alive.

I’m psyched we had a fine casting audition yesterday for a new dramatic series. Am writing episode X to be used for another casting call Tuesday. I predict a late night and not your average storytime. May the muse rock me like a hurricane. A friendly hurricane.

A real-life caper story from Germany. I’ve been developing a poker heist film, so naturally this captured my interest. I’m curious. Has anyone encountered reports of similar crimes lately?

For this St. Patty’s Day, a series of photos showing the transformation of the park over the past three weeks. Locals will recognize downed trees and hovering helicopters. Enjoy!

Dan O’Bannon. I’ll keep this short. His genius made some of the greatest Sci-Fi stories on the big screen possible and he has been an inspiration to many. Not one for the limelight, but a fellow who simply loved a great story well enough to do whatever it took to give birth to one. I missed his passing right before the holidays and will miss his talent as a filmmaker and storyteller. Thank you for the excellent films and for sharing your imagination and creativity. Rest in peace.

Cheers to Joe Hill for making this happen. I’m duly unimpressed by most book trailers and have been talking to clients and friends with book properties and such for awhile. I think this widget rocks. It taps the potential of the digital space better than many other “promotional” packages I’ve seen. It really feels like a little experience in and of itself. It respects the audience, connects to them, empowers them with the tools to buy, share, and tout the book. My curiosity surrounds the medium and the way this was made to function like a miniature story device, a prologue to the book with some “PR”-type insights into the real person behind the pages. It takes these disparate elements and weaves them all together. Maybe I’m just bedazzled by widgetry and baubles, but I’m loving the way this was done. To have such a thing work on mobile as well (Apple take heed) is the way of the future.

Holy cow. This movie got under my skin. Michael Keaton plays a wicked heavy. Herein lies perhaps the best argument for not becoming a landlord I’ve ever encountered. Great psychological thriller.
